For the creation of this painting, I drew inspiration from the rich tapestry of African mythology, a realm where Unkulunkulu reigns as the enigmatic god of creation. His ways are shrouded in mystery, his influence weaving through the very fabric of existence. Unkulunkulu bears an indirect responsibility for the advent of mortality upon the Earth, for at a pivotal moment, he dispatched a lizard bearing the message of death and a chameleon bearing the promise of eternal life.

As the chameleon moved with deliberate grace, it paused beneath the sheltering canopy of a bush, savoring a meal of verdant leaves. In that fleeting moment of respite, the lizard forged ahead and was the first to reach humankind. When the chameleon, with its kaleidoscopic hues, at last arrived among mortals, it discovered a profound truth— the message borne by the lizard had been embraced as the immutable decree.

In the realm of this artistic creation, we are but messengers, our brushstrokes and colors a tribute to the eternal dance of life and death. Our canvas captures a glimpse of the cosmic drama that unfolds, a testament to the ever-shifting balance between mortality and immortality.
